Post subject: CLOSED2022 Song Tourney 64th Track Decider is...
Allright since we're stuck on 63 and for a nice clean 64 I've decided we're going to let the algorithims play a part in deciding the last track, cause as Chris Crack noted white people love the algorithim. Basically going for the top BEA track of 2022 and top RYM single of 2022 that's not from an artist already in the tournament, and the last using various rating websites (mostly RYM, album of the year) to get the best-rated song from the Billboard Hot 100- flawed poptimist delight. And no it's not going to be "Running Up that Hill", sorry got to respect the rulesies.
Anyways looking at it all, here are the three special tracks, this could be the biggest match of the tournament (?) or not, but anyways a dress rehersal of sorts and again everyone has time to still change nominations and whatnot.
EDIT: Haha immediatedly fucked up, thought weyes blood was already nominated. Made correction
Allright this is going to be up for four days, though if we get a slew of people who want to put in their own nominations I may end up scrapping it, I donno- we're learning as we go along
EDIT: I think I'm actually going to close nominations for now so this tourney doesn't get more confused than it already is, if some latecomer really, really wants to put forth some new songs I'll still consider it.

Anyways, on these songs, Kendrick's is as... well hits the difficult mix of emotions that possibly made his album so polarizing though this track seems to obviously have resonated with so many, Weyes Blood is obviously an immaculate display of what she's done so well on her past couple of albums but also a good example of why I feel somewhat remote and even bored at times with her music. But that Steve Lacy track, damn that is just irrestible. Pretty much a perfect, modern funky pop jam. Guess I am going the popular route here.
'Mother I Sober' wouldn't have been my #1 choice from Mr. Morale but it's one of the best songs on the album and Kendrick deserves a place in the tournament. Honestly it's surprising nobody nominated a song from Mr. Morale.
Well—
it's between Steve and Blood.
God Turn Me Into a Flower is what the songs mentioned in ancient scripture sound like.
Bad Habit is a top-notch sadbop equipped with a hot water bottle, two cookies and ice pack.
Fairly easy choice, my vote's for "Mother I Sober". The other 2 are fine, and I love Weyes Blood, but that track just didn't stand out to me as much as some others from the album. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
Alright going to leave this up for the rest of the night, hope we don't have a tie anytime soon as I have the brackets all lined up and just waiting for this song to fill the last spot
