More of a question than a suggestion. As I listen to albums, ones not in my chart, or any other chart, not yet entered into BEA, and I feel like giving a comment, it seems like I couldn't do this. I just listened to Sugar Ray's Music For Cougars and feel like its worth suggting to others to listen to. Would this just be a band topic untill someone puts it on their chart. I'd also like to rate it, but that seems like it couldn't happen either. _________________ New fav's: The Weepies, Art Brut, 311. No the BEA database is only for albums that are on charts (naturally). The best way to recommend an album that isn't in the database is through a thread on the forums. You could either start a new thread or post to a pre-existing one that's relevant (What Album Are You Listening too?. Hear, hear. or various ones that allude to albums that aren't on many or any charts) in order to plug it. Hope that makes sense Lord Vader.

Jhereko is right, the original point of site was just to show the best albums (which are albums from people's 'best ever' charts.) However, the number of albums on this site will increase vastly once the forthcoming decade (and then year) charts are released. There should then be a space for pretty much any album that you want to add. The problem after that will then become keeping up with all of the albums added to the site, and making sure the data is accurate (which is already an issue).

Can't seem to be able to add Godz 2 by Godz to my 1960s chart.
http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/godz/godz_2/
Plus it's blocking my ability to add other albums to my list after the spot Godz should be into (I checked by adding another album than Godz 2, it works fine and allows me to go on with my chart).
It's no big deal of course, but I wonder what's happening. In the meantime, I'll just keep on with my chart, ignoring Godz and adding them later when this is fixed (if possible).

If it's a new artist, highlight the bottom option in the list of suggestions (in orange), and you should be able to add anything you want...

Actually the same problem appears with New York Art Quartet
http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/...t_quartet/
I guess it's going to happen everytime I suggest an artist unlisted for the decade. I'll just refrain from decade charting for a while and see how it works out.

Erm, this is embarrassing... I'm so dumb. Thanks for wasting time.

Yes, these artists don't exist on BEA yet. Highlight the bottom option (in orange) in the list of suggestions when you are making your selections and you can allow these into your chart. The option is like this:
If your band is correctly spelt and is NOT listed above: This band does not yet appear on this site.
Click to allow this band into your chart (please check your spelling before confirming)
EDIT: cross-posted, sorry. Maybe this will help somebody else, so I'll leave it here.
