Love your choice of pick to represent me cestuneblague
Etran de L'Aïr's second album is 1) loads crisper and produced better than their first album, and 2) one of the best recent desert blues albums among some fantastic stuff from the genre.
Agadez is a city in central Niger, in the middle of the Aïr Mountains. Etran De L'Aïr has played in this region for years before being picked up by Sahel Sounds (a label founded by an American which started out as a way to distribute field recordings and grew into a dedicated label), a label which also hosts some of my other desert blues favorites like Mdou Moctar and Les Filles de Illighadad (all from Niger).
If you enjoy "Toubouk Ine Chihoussay", I highly recommend you check out some of these other acts. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
