Of course, there are other issues involving other credit stuff, but I'm not as knowledgeable about that and they aren't the main problem anyway.

I think Obama won the debate. John McCain repeated himself too much and was a bit too nasty. Obama was calm, collected, and clear.

Neo LSD User was probably glad to see Obama address naivety issue. Obama said that he does not understand why McCain thinks he is inexperienced and and even stupid for saying that he would try to apprehend Osama Bin Laden from Pakistan if the Pakistani gov't is unable to do so. When McCain was the one who sang Bomb Iron (to the tune of Barbaraanne by the Beach Boys) and wants to annihilate North Korea. Obama was able to shut down McCains Teddy Roosevelt reference by saying "this isn't someone who speaks softly."

The market freaked out again people. We are now in a full-fledged recession.
McCain said he wants to buy out mortgages at face value, but that won't help the banks as much as it will hurt the government.
And this from the guy who claims he wants to REDUCE spending.

12 days & counting! It's starting to come down to the wire. I'm watching CNN almost every day. I have a question though - how do you folks in the States elect your members of Congress? I know that each states have a certain number of electoral votes, but when they show a map of a state it has many more divisions. How do your votes get tallied, and how do you choose your members of congress? Do you have a first past the post system or does every single vote get count towards who controls the White House?

I am so anxious about this election. I believe Obama can win and has the advantage right now but the polls are tightening up and you can never know what will happen until it has already happened. I heard a rumor that Obama is worried people won't show up to vote because they think he's already won. If you are one of those people, still go!!! I can't stress this enough, voting in the U.S. presidential election is one of the single most important things you do in your life and is a huge privaledge. Take advantage of this!!!

OBAMA 08

I think congress will go about 53%-47% democratic.
I agree with JohnnyRocketFingers

Obama wins, with a 52 to 46 percent of the vote. It was decided early--cnn called it at 11:00 (for a time frame, the election in 2004 wasn't called until a day later and it took even longer in 2000, as we all remember). What I think pushed him over the top was the economy. With the crash, people were disillusioned even more with the incumbent president, and John McCain could not distance himself enough from him. Also, people want out of the war and a better energy policy because of rising gas prices.
Enough of that. He won, and I think we can start a new time when, possibly, people will stop seeing us as the United Stupid of America who elected George Bush.

If anyone was wondering, the electoral count was 364 to 174.
