ACTA has been signed in complete discretion, away from the public eye. Kader Arif, the European Parliament's rapporteur for ACTA has quit his position in protest

Kader Arif wrote:
”I want to denounce in the strongest possible manner the entire process that led to the signature of this agreement: no inclusion of civil society organisations, a lack of transparency from the start of the negotiations, repeated postponing of the signature of the text without an explanation being ever given, exclusion of the EU Parliament’s demands that were expressed on several occasions in our assembly.”

“As rapporteur of this text, I have faced never-before-seen manoeuvres from the right wing of this Parliament to impose a rushed calendar before public opinion could be alerted, thus depriving the Parliament of its right to expression and of the tools at its disposal to convey citizens’ legitimate demands.”

“Everyone knows the ACTA agreement is problematic, whether it is its impact on civil liberties, the way it makes Internet access providers liable, its consequences on generic drugs manufacturing, or how little protection it gives to our geographical indications.”

“This agreement might have major consequences on citizens’ lives, and still, everything is being done to prevent the European Parliament from having its say in this matter. That is why today, as I release this report for which I was in charge, I want to send a strong signal and alert the public opinion about this unacceptable situation. I will not take part in this mascarade.”

One of the Slovenian members of the Parliament who was among those that signed the bill issued a short (unofficial) statement over the web, sounding almost a bit apologetic (saying "ACTA still has to be ratified, nothing is lost, EP is having another discussion on the matter)

This is some serious shit... It's not even so much the content of ACTA, but the way this is all happening away from the public, without anyone being informed about it... Disgusting

Scumbags. I'm wondering what citizens of the United States can do to combat this.

(Also the dude misspelled "masquerade" but NOW IS NOT THE TIME)

I stopped believing most of what is spewed by the mainstream media a long time ago. I go 2 alternative media for information instead. RT is one of the best and if/when the powers that be get their way I will no longer have access 2 this source of actual TRUTH nor most of the others I rely on for truth.

Listen, I've said it before and I'm saying it again. For it is true.

The REAL reason for these acts by governments around the globe is 2

CONTROL THE MINDS OF THE SHEEPLE

They already have most of the money, power, and fame in the world. They no longer need these things.

They want your mind body & soul Exclamation

They want absolute control over you and as for the rest, whom they are unable 2 brainwash. They want DEAD.

Now, the politic elite would have you 2 believe that Julian Assange is a traitor, rapist, nut job, etc.

But he is nothing of the kind. He is in reality a very brave hero of the people Applause

As for me, I very much look forward 2 hearing his talk show. But I doubt the Illuminati will ever allow this 2 happen

This morning, RT had some very big news to announce that Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, is going to be launching a talk show, which will be broadcast by this network. It will be called, "The World Tomorrow", and will consist of 10 weekly episodes where he interviews what he calls, "iconoclasts, visionaries, and power insiders". But before even seeing the program, we've already seen judgments made loud and clear.

Assange on RT
