It is the extreme right which is killing the GOP and the extreme left which is killing the USA.
You're half right. If there is an extreme left though, it doesn't have very much power or say thanks to the power of the extreme right and the delusional moderate Republicans that actually support extreme right positions. Barack Obama is not extreme left!... not even close.

Obama and the Democrats are not extreme left. It only seems that way because they are left of the Republicans. Perception doesn't make it true. Let it go. The right may not like the Democrats, but they need to stop calling them socialists. They should criticize them for what they really do, labeling them socialists kills their credibility. Just ask Donald Trump, Ann Coulter or Bill O'Reilly about being taken seriously. (or Michael Moore, Mike Malloy, Cindy Sheehan)
It's funny, in any other western country the democrats would be seen as a conservative party. In New Zealand they would be the most conservative party be a large margin and the republicans would be seen as some kind of police state party.
Just saying that describing democrats as extreme left is nonsense when they are closer to being an right wing party than a left wing party at all.
As for the the "extreme left killing the USA". Is it because they support a free media? equal rights? free speech? Ya know those things that the patriot act does not. Maybe you should take a closer look at what parties are really "killing USA".
Well, considering the most radical idea of the democrats is raising the top income tax rate to 39 percent (which is still quite lower than nearly all the world's wealthiest countries) and having a "universal" health-care system which is still largely run by for-profit insurance companies, that's hardly radical. Pretty much anything to the left of the current US republican party is deemed "socialism" by their leaders. And considering nearly every major conservative party in the western world is to the left of the current US republican party, I guess we're all socialists. That's better than being party of the train wreck that is today's republican party.

Oh how fun that this passive-agressive mocking of everybody is going to continue now that Obama is president for four more years...
And if you're implying that the extreme left has any power in the USA, you are dead wrong. If anything we have a moderate democratic party that just seems that way in comparison to the other major political party in D.C. You're correct in asserting that the extreme right is killing the GOP... but there are few real centerists left in the party, it's often a case of who has more mouth control and a better way with semantics over the most controversial issues. Then again, for democrats it often seems like it's a fight between the moderate liberal wing and the conservative blue-collar-type democrats, many of who reside in the south and deep red parts of the rust belt... and the latter is increasingly getting shut out as the different US regions become more and more politcally polarized.
I didn't describe democrats as extreme left. The quote was "It is the extreme right which is killing the GOP and the extreme left which is killing the USA."
And if you bothered to read what I posted you would notice that I never said you did.
