Cool I'll let someone else do Toronto (...jack...)

I got it

Toronto
Broken Social Scene
Fucked Up
Death From Above 1979
Neil Young
Rush

(that was actually kinda tough to narrow down, but I tried to aim for a more diverse spread...)

Also: does Joni Mitchell count? She's from Alberta, but her music career has been Toronto-based.

We both nominated Broken Social Scene Neutral

.... Anxious

Well, the bands 50/50 between the cities, right? Confused But I guess I can pick another band.

Instead of BSS, I nominate Chromeo.

Oh shit, haha, I didn't notice. Their Wiki page describes them as a Toronto band, so I went with that.

purple, Lubbock is 6 hours and 550+ kilometres west of Dallas, so I really don't think that counts; Buddy Holly had no connection with Dallas or the Metroplex area.

My nominations:

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Bryan Adams
Matthew Good/Matthew Good Band (do they count as one or two? If two, then just MGB)
The New Pornographers
Heart (all Americans, but they started out in Vancouver, so I think they qualify)
Michael Bublé (res)
Moist (res if Heart does not count)

Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Sloan
Sarah McLachlan
Joel Plaskett/Joel Plaskett Emergency (same question as MGB)
Buck 65
Holly Cole/Holly Cole Trio (res)

I'm willing to accept revisions if people have better suggestions for these two cities.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA
Jimmy Eat World
Meat Puppets
The Format
Andrew Jackson Jihad
(res.) Gin Blossoms

...not as bad as I feared it would be. Will probably still be out in the first round. Think

(I would have liked to include Alice Cooper in place of Gin Blossoms, but although he's resided in Phoenix since a teenager, he was born in MI so I didn't think it would be fair.)

Halifax suggestions - not that what you've nominated isn't appropriate, but if you were looking for suggestions:

Thrush Hermit Cool
Eric's Trip
Holy Fuck

Maybe even Anne Murray? Anxious
