It is an enjoyable album. There was an outtake or extra material song which I liked more than the whole album though

I'm not a fan. I like the concept of these primitive and cheap sounding synth riffs and drum beats combined with the cerebral vocals, but I think that the concept is better than the actual result.
Oh, and Frankie Teardrop scared the hell out of me. It's definitely a fascinating song, but it's not one that I'd like to listen to again.

I am. Absolutely fascinating album along the 'less is more' line.

Haven't heard full album yet, but I did hear enough songs to get the idea.
It's certainly interesting, and it does create an intense atmosphere. On the other hand I don't think it's that perfect. For one thing, I'm bothered by lyrics. I know they're not the main part of the album, but I still think they're way too poor. Take Frankie Teardrop, for example, it's as if they were written by some 12 year old who doesn't speak much english yet and hasn't developed enough of a vocabulary to write something that would be deep in any way.
It's the reason why I find that song hilarous... Besides the screams.

If you're to make 'raw', minimalistic music, singing elaborate lyrics to it seems nonsensical and counterproductive to me.

Like this album a lot and "Frankie Teardrop" is great fun (though I think my favourite track may be "Che"). Incredibly ahead of its time, though if I have one qualm with the album it's that I wish they would vary up their style a little bit - but that's a small qualm.

The purpose of Frankie Teardrop is, I believe, to create a disturbing and harrowing atmosphere, and literate poetry wouldn't fit to that. Primitive words is easier to shout out, as you can make them sound more convincingly fearful.
