|
This doesn't specifically have to be the all time dream band with Hendrix on guitar and so on. Its more about making a band you'd think would play well together or would like to see together. You can describe the style you imagine for them, why you picked them and even what songs you'd like to see them play. Even come up with a name for them if you like.
The Trailblazers
Keith Richards: Guitar
Mick Ronson: Guitar
Paul McCartney: Bass
Jerry Lee Lewis: Piano
Keith Moon: Drums
Bruce Sprinsteen: Vocals
Just a great rock 'n roll band. Richards is a great guitarist but not a conventional lead player and would work well with Ronson (like he did with Taylor). Ronson could provide the great solos and Richards the melody. McCartney is simply on of the best bass players I've ever heard and perfectly completes any song. Moon's wild drumming adds energy to any band without going over the top. Springsteen has the perfect classic rock 'n roll voice. I toyed with the idea of having someone like Nicky Hopkins or Billy Preston but no one's better than the Killer. I'd love to hear these guys play wild versions of rock 'n roll standards like Brown Sugar, Johnny B. Goode and I Saw Her Standing There. _________________ "Its so easy to laugh, its so easy to hate. Very interesting and imaginative thread 111th Beatle, I'll come with mine a little later. I have to think of it first.

Anthony Braxton - alto sax
Eric Dolphy - flute
Toshinori Kondo - trumpet
Cecil Taylor - piano
Andrew Cyrille - drums

Avant Garde Rock:

"The Break-Ups"
Van Morrison - Vocals
Frank Zappa - Guitar/Vocals/Writer
Mike McCready - Guitar
Tina Weymouth - Bass/Backing Vocals
Levon Helm - Drums/Backing Vocals
Ray Manzarek - Keyboards
I just thought this would make an interesting band. Exactly how well they would work together is difficult to say, but I imagine it would depend on how well people are able to cope with Zappa's perfectionism and work ethic. I know Weymouth could hang because she had to put up with David Byrne. I think there would be friction between most everybody in this band though, with the exception of McCready. I would imagine they would put out one great album, then break-up, hence the name of the band. _________________ My shoes hurt!! - Mr. Show

If these Jazz Genius's came of age in the late 80s and early 90s they would make an awesome rap group called:
G.W.A. (Geniuses With Attitude)
John Coltrane
Miles Davis
Ornette Coleman
Pharoah Sanders
Anthony Braxton _________________ "The future is unwritten."
