With all due respect to Donna Summer, this one isn't even close. Shame on you C'mon - it's Janis.

Donna Summer was a class act and I feel a better career than Janis. Yes, Janis could screem. I'll give her that much. But palleeease, the girl was fugging ukly! Brick wall

You gotta ask yourself one question. Who would you rather wake next to in the morning? Anxious

AAAND, Donna Summer had 11 gold and platinum albums and 14 top ten singles. Very Happy

Janis did not. Embarassed

Please think a bit before voting Pray

So it's all about who was more popular and better-looking?

Janis. No competition. Pop fluff vs. actual music.

Pretty sexist... I realize that image is a big part of the music industry, but we should not judge a female artist because we wouldn't want to bang her. Do you judge male artists by the same standard?

I did think. I voted Janis. Nothing against Donna Summer - she was a huge singer, but Janis Joplin is a much more signifigant artist.

What's wrong with voting on appearance? You would be lying to yourself if it wasn't a factor.

Voted for Janis Mr. Green

Voted for Janis Mr. Green

Veg wasn't just mentioning appearance. It was whether we'd want to 'bang' her. Dismissing a female artist because she's ugly is sexist.

I agree that appearance is a factor (image, sex appeal, etc..) but I think that Veg was giving it major creedence. More so than he should.

Donna Summer was talented no doubt but Janis is more my type of music. A lot more.

Bang factor is irrelevant.
