I have a 5 year streak of not losing Monopoly. Although I haven't played in a year because I'm too scared of losing.
The secret is to ruthlessly get a set, focus on nothing else. Offer all of your money for one plot, people will think you're crazy, but you'll be laughing all the way to the bank.
So many people just buy whatever they land on. No.
There's huge strategy to Monopoly, I don't actually enjoy it when I play it because I feel so under pressure.

Catan, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride... there's a bunch of guys I know big into board games, and they always introduce new and crazy ones that I can't remember.
Plus the old Milton Bradley Game Master series - Axis & Allies (plus the new ones), Fortress America, Shogun, Conquest of Empire.
...and I have a soft spot for The Farming Game. And Scrabble. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

Right on! I've never lost a game of Settlers. Ever.
Also like Scotland Yard, Dominion, Nexus Ops, Clue, Stratego, and Apples to Apples (if that can be counted as a board game... more like a card game, really)

Games are more fun without the bored part. _________________ She's dead, wrapped in plastic.

My dad developed a system which involved a grid of all the cards cross-sectioned with all the other people playing. Cluedo stopped being fun when this happened.
Monopoly is obviously the best, Risk is also great, don't really play board games anymore though. Apart from Trivial Pursuits at Christmas and that's only because my Grandad loves it. _________________ Shut up mate you're boring!
