Edit: I realise this could be read as something magical, but what I'm trying to say is that he's generic.
Some days at my job I'm in a garage where it's kept on Cat Country, a United States mainstream country radio station, and I quickly realized all mainstream country is basically the same. Their voices especially are always similar. And they love singing about their old pick-up truck, freedom, their high school sweetheart, their grandfather's farm, and various things of this nature. All typically over a simple chord structure with a steel guitar.
I will say, in extremely limited doses there are a couple country artists I enjoy, but I can't listen too long. Bluegrass on the other hand I really love every now and then.
JOSweetHeart, as I said on your chart, if you get a chance try checking out Nickel Creek. Some country elements along with a lot of bluegrass and pop tendencies as well. Something a bit different for you to try that you may like.
I think this is the second or third time you've used this phrase incorrectly. It's nip this in the bud, and has horticultural origins. This isn't intended to get you riled up or anything, I just thought you should know.

That video was terrible disney like stuff... however, I am glad that people still rock the mandolin. Maybe not as well as Peter Buck...
Yeah Nickel Creek's videos are super corny, but I think they have/had a great sound. And honestly I think Chris Thile is one of the greatest mandolin players in the world. Some of his other work with Nickel Creek as well as Punch Brothers is masterful to say the least.
