I've never been a big Who fan. I've listened to it, and I remember it being good and all, but not much else about it.

All right!! Great stuff! Only second to Who's Next and well worth the 80 minutes! I couldn't exactly follow the story, but I really liked the songs.

Underrated album. Maybe in 1973 happened so much that it remained - to live its own life ... or Who's Next has made it unnecessary ...

Did you know there's a movie out of this album? The critics LOVE it! It's free on YouTube, too!

Great film, but Sting proved he's no actor!

Love it. I agree with the people who complain about the story's absurdity, but it gives the album a very characteristic tone, sometimes melodramatic, sometimes funny, sometimes grandiose, sometimes introspective etc.. I used to like 5:15 a lot (great lyrics and energy), so much that it was my favorite track off of this, but after repeated spins I appreciated The Real Me even more, and probably the moment when this album really reaches its highest point for me is during the three closing tracks, true masterpieces, the powerful emotion they deliver is almost equal to the greatest moments in Who's Next. Daltrey's vocals during the "Is it me for a moment..." part in Doctor Jimmy are enough to justify him as one of the all-time greatest singers of rock in the same manner Townshend's soaring guitar in The Rock solidifies his place among the true guitar virtuosos/masters, while concerning Love Reign O'er Me, well, you don't need my lame subjective description, anyone who has listened to it... just knows. I also love the way it balances between raw and mellow in tracks like I'm One, something which can be said for a lot of The Who's '70s work of course. And while I've had some trouble with other albums with length more than an hour long (Mellon Collie springs to mind-although an excellent work it often feels it drags, at least to my ears) this just goes smoothly from the beginning to the end. No serious complaints here, just a true masterwork.
