Along with the history of the early days of the band you get some good background on grunge and the scene in Seattle in those days. Particularly the whole connection between Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog, and Pearl Jam.
Meeting People is Easy is probably my favourite documentary of any kind.
The Foo Fighters doc that coincided with the release of Wasting Light was also really good.
And I'll join the masses when it comes to It Might Get Loud, I don't even like Jack White and I'm only a semi-fan of The Edge but it's a great documentary. Worth watching just to get to the scene where Page - a man now pushing 70 - is looking at either White or Edge's gear, something of their equipment, and is FREAKING THE FUCK OUT like a kid in a candy store about how cool it is.
Just wanted to resurrect this thread to see if anyone has anymore to add.
Has anyone watched the BBC documentaries of Punk Britannia and Prog Britannia? They're both great documentaries about the rise of Punk Rock and Prog Rock in Britain.
