Ok so everyone take what I'm about to say with a grain of salt, as prettymuch none of this is confirmed. This is all information extrapolated from Boards of Canada's recent shenanigans involving the speculation of their new album/release.

A couple of years ago, Boards of Canada uploads a seemingly random video that happens to have /--/--/--/--/--/--/ at time stamp 4:20. It goes by unnoticed for a couple years, until this years Record Store day (which was on April 20th) when someone picks up a Boards of Canada 12" at Other Music Records in NYC. It's dated 2013 and plays for about 20 seconds. All that's on the front cover is ------ / ------ / ------ / XXXXXX / ------ / ------. This appears to be one of 6 randomly shipped records, each contain a piece of the puzzle. A youtube video of the records playing is uploaded, it contains a voice saying the numbers 936557

Now the common theory is that this "code" leads to the news of a new album, to be released on June 6th. This is pointed at for a number of reasons including
- 06/06/2013 (2+1+3 = 6)
- 6 records mailed out to 6 different countries on 4/20 (4+2 = 6)
- records have 6 slots of 6 numerals/dashes/letters (------/------/------/936557/------/------) (_ _ _ M _ _)
- julie and candy video description has 6 corresponding phrases: 1977/snow/computing/amateur footage/beards/synthesizer

More 12''s are found at other record stores throughout the globe bearing the same number

Boards of Canada then uploads another video to youtube, which seems to play nothing.
But in the description box it links to this video, containing a new string of numbers "717228"

A video is then uploaded, entitled "Trails" thus making the existence of this treasure hunt even more plausible

A 3rd piece was then played on a BBC1 radio show, with no acknowledgement from the personalities. It bears the number 519225

NPR then plays another number along the same fashion, reading, 699742

Later, BoC updates their official Youtube playlist, moving 3 Twoism inspired videos to the front. Twoism is an unofficial message board, and when entered, barred a new banner, which was slightly distorted from there older one. When the Gif banner was opened through notepad, 2 links were revealed, which led to 2 soundcloud pages. When played, the audio is buried under distortion, but when overplayed, they play a sequence of numbers already found, and a new one, 628315

After uploading the links into a text editor, a paragraph of coding jargon was uncovered, appearing to have come from a Mac source folder, and which contains the word "Cosecha" a number of times, leading people to assume it might be the title of a new album.

Footage was then played on Cartoon Network's "Toonami", revealing the code, 699742

The ad also revealed that they belong at the beginning of the code sequence, which now looks like this: 699742 / 628315 / 717228 / 936557 / —— / 519225.

So that's where we stand, currently I'm stoked as fuck, so we might get a new album "Cosecha" on June 6th

This could honestly be the best PR stunt I've seen for a band. Although I don't think it would attract anybody who already wasn't a fan, if I were watching Toonami and just happened to see that video I would be scared as fuck
Here's the ad in question

That video's haunting, and the music sounds incredible. Fuck. I'm hyped now.

Also cosecha means harvest, what could that possibly imply? They're "harvesting" the fruits of all their musical work these last years? That could mean a multiple album release.
