A great live LP should have performances that transcend the studio versions & become definitive. A good example would be China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider off of Europe '72 as opposed to the studio China Cat on Aoxomaxoa. I nominate:
Duke Ellington - At Newport
Otis Redding & Jimi Hendrix at Monterey
Ravi Shankar at Monterey
Allman Bros. - At Fillmore East
Miles Davis - Dark Magnus
James Brown At The Apollo Vol. 2
Live/Dead
Wheels of Fire (the live half) + Live Cream Vol 1
John Coltrane At The Village Vanguard Box
Velvet Underground - The Quinne Tapes
Betty Carter - At The Village Vanguard
more to come...

Jean-Michel Jarre - Houston-Lyon
Astounding album, very moving. Electronic music at it's best. Fantastic sampling, mixing, sequencing and orchestration of different sounds. Pure genius.
The showmanship, projecting images onto skyscrapers etc. Very innovative concerts and ahead of its time.

It's the only live album I own, and I haven't listened to it in years, but I like it quite a lot.
