Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. I really like Mark Kozelek but, after two attempts, I can't get through this. My only lingering thought is that he wants to be known as a modern-day Lou Reed. The rambling stories just don't do it for me on this occasion.

I wouldn't say this is the album to point to for listeners who want to start listening to Mark Kozelek projects, but it definitely is an album that they should listen to after they've tried the essentials. His stream of conscious-styled writing makes it easy to follow the lyrics and the guitar work is so lush. Despite a 90 minute run time, this album flies by for me.

I will say this is the best Mark Kozelek album since Admiral Fell Promises, guitars are beautiful and remind me of the good old times, and lyrics are pretty fresh. The only songs I found boring were Good Nostalgia and 666 Post. 8/10.
