Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.6/100, a mean average of 64.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 65.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.6.

Shockingly solid.
Not a studio album, really, just a bad B-side album. However there are some gems - Revolving Doors and Bobby In Phoenix are brilliant. Half of Hillbilly Man is great too (there is a great song in there somewhere). The rest is just garbage to be honest. Those 2 and a half songs drag this rating up from a certain 5/100.
I really don't think there's one track that even tries to emulate Americana, where do people get that idea?
Also, was 'Seattle Yodel' ever meant to be a real yodel? I thought it was meant as a joke... Okay, I looked it up, it's actually a toy that makes sound, look up "the yodelling pickle". People really should stop taking music too seriously. That's also something I realized with this album: something he made in a month almost jokingly can actually sound as solid as this, have such a consistent sound and theme too. It really undermines all his previous megalomanic efforts. Okay, it doesn't contain any hits, but other than that this is really an album; it's better than what some people put out after months of work (including himself lately). It makes me think, are those enormous projects really necessary? How many artists could make such a cute, little gem if they just put their pride and perfectionism aside?
For some reason this album made on a fucking iPad while touring just sticks with me. It really catches this sinister, industrial feeling that I get with traveling for some reason. Not that I have fear for traveling, but it's just this sinister yet romantic feeling I get from trains and planes and highways, I can't explain it. It's this "fear of the future/modernity" sentiment the best trip hop taps into I guess.
I appreciate this album for what it is, understanding that it was made in a month, on a iPad, traveling across the states. Not the best Gorillaz record but something I find myself coming to often when I just want to hear some quirky tracks.
Very climatic.
Realmente nada impresionante
A fascinating journey through raw Americana; hugely transporting and quirky. Albarn must be commended for completing this epic piece of work on an iPad of all things. A highly underrated concept album. (Plus "Amarillo" is heartbreaking and beautiful and remains their best song and one of the best songs of the decade)
