Sometimes when I'm working on this chart I feel like I'm trying to make it as bad as possible.

Just my own taste, and one album per artist.

Picking my favorite Beach Boys album... there's nothing harder in life. But I chose this one, and that's because everytime I listen to it, I can feel it. I resonate with this album; I know what Brian Wilson was aiming at, and I understand why he failed to perfect it. He wanted an album that sent the listener to another world, but this result sends him/her to an abandoned train station between worlds, but it’s further than anyone has gone.
It’s completely crazy and one of a kind, even now decades later.
The humor that is in the music is not merely an addition to the music, it is part of the music; he shows that humor is an integral part of music that people have forgotten about.
The lo-fi quality - although clearly incorporated because of the emergency situation - creates an atmosphere that was completely new at the time.
And all the while he creates an early version of ambient music, which here has a function as world building so to say.
All in all, this is clearly the work of a genius in despair, comparable with Mozart’s Requiem. It is imperfect, unfinished, and although I am really curious how the project would’ve turned out, I am aware that it was probably just too hard a task for one human being to complete, and we should be sufficiently content with this: The echo of the best album ever made.

The most exilharating drill 'n' bass works he has ever made, interchanged by these childlike (not childish) organ pieces and confusing ambient tracks, this is just the perfect listening experience. Of course it has the necessary Aphex Twin shenanigans: Welsh titles as well as gibberish (sorry Welsh people, I cannot distinguish them), tracks that consist of one weird sound, his family wishing him happy birthday (where the only edit is that his mom's laugh is looped back I think).

One of those albums that just utterly confuse me. It may simply sound like folk/pop, but this album is completely made just like the previous three: as an electronic album. And you can hear that in the details and the structure of the songs.

When I first heard Ice JJ Fish I thought: "I know this is bullshit, but there is something interesting here".

Jeffery is my spirit animal: he is the embodiment of fashion, he is his own best friend, and a shamelessly genius vocalist; I love him.

I have an unhealthy obsession with her music that makes me question my sanity sometimes. This is one of those that makes you wonder: "genius or just really dumb?" And then you learn she is a rich kid, and slowly find all the old school rap songs she references, and the really bad attempts at more serious songs. And still... I just love it. Her disposition, the shameless auto-tune, the simplicity.

Really, if you think I've completely lost it for adding this one, I agree with ya.

"WHO??? PRINCE? ain't that a bitch?!"

This is the one where he just didn't pull any punches. People complained he got too pop, which was fair criticism; his music began to grow stale. And he just got so funky and honest he got scared of himself listening it back. These moments where genius artists completely abandon all their restraint are the most beautiful of music history. He wishes rappers dead (ermm... on it) and shows them he's living the lifestyle they say they are, and gave the last burst of rock hard feminine energy of the '80s before the world got lost in ass-backwards mannerisms in the '90s.

It's as much of a complete bop as Dirty Mind, but while Dirty Mind had its charm in its temperedness, this one doubles down in energy and aggressive percussion and extreme vocals.

Little Richard is just a hot mess filled with energy with no label. Is it angry, happy, masculine, feminine? It's just energy. The whole crew sounds out of control, all instruments are pushed to their absolute limit: destroying violins, smashing piano keys at supernatural rates, and snares breaking sold as guitar solos. It's fire, straight up fire. It's what he introduced to the world and he made sure people wouldn't forget who started it. Fire.

One time I woke up early and listened this whole album while laying on the couch. First time I really noticed the second half might be even better. It was an almost religious experience. Still can't figure out whether the story of the shipwreck is an allegory to something.

Without them saying much, or anything comprehensible, I understand them completely. A weight of depression appears on your shoulders and gets amplified by agressive layers of distortion.

You've got a lot of good electronic albums that have been almost forgotten about for some reason. Like Orbital, Chromeo. Chemical Bros, Mr. Fingers, Moloko, Tears for Fears. Even Daft Punk Homework and deadmau5 you never hear about anymore. I also like how you got the Chic album and Enya. Excellent albums.
