Easily my favorite album from 2011, and one of my favorite albums ever. I don't see what's not to love.
Besides the fact that Bay of Pigs is way to long this album is an absolute masterpiece! Easily one of the best albums from 2011 and it always saddens me by how few have actually heard it. I love the chill jazz and smooth sound of this albums tone, also agree with sneazey about the David Bowie comparison. Best tracks are Chinatown, Blue Eyes, and Kaputt.

Another beautifully sounding and consistent album of 2011.
It kind of sounded like David Bowie took a ton of muscle relaxants and chilled on a cruise ship. Chill, warm, and great. Its almost like getting out of a hot tub on a warm summer night.
I am distraught that "The Laziest River" only exists as a bonus track. I'm considering giving it my vote for best song of 2011.

paladisiac 12/16/2011 15:06Destroyer takes on new age, soft rock, smooth jazz, prog and r&b to moderate success. It's a bit weird to hear this amalgamation from the indie rock darling, but it works surprisingly well. If Sade was male, this is how Sade would "rock out".
vilangeloI am absolutely in love with this album. If you love 80s music, you will fall in love with it. "Song for America" is addicting!
