"Sci-Fi Sky' is a retread of many post-punk tropes. Maybelline's vocals sound like an exaggerated parody of Ian Curtis' voice. Middling basslines and spare percussion make much of the album feel without drive. I do think that the songs with Larissa Iceglass's vocal work much better. Her vocals are unfortunately missing from the b side. "Golden Child" does succeed with its strange mothering tone. Despite this, these positives are not enough to salvage the album.
