Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.5/100, a mean average of 75.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.2.

Raivoso e divertido.
This record is full of catchy songs with some being more effective than others with the peak of the record being on the first track. Personality Crisis sums up this record perfectly. It is fast paced and full of energy and just so infectious. The album does a good job after this track to keep the same style of music and atmosphere for the whole run time. They also maintain the grittiness and sleazy sort of nature they are going for which makes for a unique listen. This makes the record feel very consistent as it all fits together nicely and creates a nice bubble for the listener to be able to sit in. However, this is where the album falters as well in my opinion as the repetitive nature of the music gets boring after a while. This is primarily due to the song structure and instrumentals which do feel a bit copy and paste from track to track. A few songs are filler as well and even though they maintain the style they do not reach the level of Trash, Personality Crisis and Looking For A Kiss. Overall, an enjoyable listen that isn't anything outstanding but does make for a fun and unique experience.

Album has very good production, it sounds raw and heavy.
There is a certain sameness in the songs considering the album as a whole.
Fast rockers with that proto-punk rhythmic background, only a couple mid-tempo songs.
but all come with great riffs and catchy lyrics.
Best tracks:
- Personality - Best track, with a gritty 3 chord riffing.Punky
- Pills - Quite punky and with funny lyrics.
- Looking For a Kiss
- Bad Girl, with punky and even thrash-metal heaviness in the axes.
- Trash - Another protopunk,
- Jet Boy - The heaviest and grittiest track, AC/DC comes to mind..
the only way this could be better is if it had never been released. some accredited as early punk. rubbish

Gets points for not sounding like 1973 at all.

Totally infectious rock and roll despite it’s perverseness. This is a hugely influential album for NYC, Glam Rock, Punk Rock and Hair Metal but most people have never heard it.
Favorite Tracks:Vietnamese Baby, Lonely Planet Boy, bad Girl, Subway Train, Jet Boy

I had to check this out understanding this group is a major influence on many groups including Morrissey who was once the president of the NYD's Fan Club
And it was everything I anticipated - wild , sleazy , androgynous and not PC
I couldn't help but be reminded of The Replacements track "Johnny's Gonna Die" which refers to Johnny Thunders & sadly Westerberg was right on the money
50 Garters Out Of 100

the ultimate fake it until you make it rock album. every kids dream album of the 70s

Underrated
