When this hit my radio station, there were two schools of thought about it: 1. "This is accoustic and isn't even in English, what are we supposed to do with this?" or 2. "Thank you Jesus, this is something a honkey radio station in a tiny Spanish town should be embracing."
It was a godsend to me-- whenever a set or an hour or god forbid a show was threatening to go all Boston or "Sweet Baby James" on me, I could tear it away in a different direction entirely with this; you can get to anything that swings from this, you can get to a hundred Bonnie Raitt off tracks, Bela and the Flecktones, Toots and the Maytals, Orleans, Dylan, lotsa Dylan... I think it is a great album, and I love the attitude that caused them to insist on making and releasing it-- but I'm not entirely dispassionate in my judgement of it.
