Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.3/100, a mean average of 75.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.6.

Tough to follow up "Jailbreak" from only 7 months earlier but I'd say they did it well.
Best song(s): Johnny; Don't Believe a Word; Massacre
See that comment of mine below? Yeah, don't listen to it. This record is damn near perfect. Score changed.
Some great tracks ("Don't Believe a Word", "Fool's Gold", and "Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed"), some pretty good stuff ("Johnny", "Rocky", "Borderline", "Old Flame", and "Massacre"), and then some okay/bland stuff ("Sweet Marie" and "Boogie Woogie Dance"). Unfortunately, the first side seems to be much better than side 2, but both are worth listening to and they equate to a very enjoyable album. Phil is wonderful as always, Gorham and Robertson are locked in yet don't get to shine as much as on "Jailbreak", and Downey is fantastic, yet, in the end, the songwriting just isn't as pristine on here as it was on "Jailbreak".
Not quite as good as, Jailbreak, but a solid Lizzy album. Johnny, Rocky, and, Don't believe a word, are all strong cuts. Good album.
Don't Believe A Word the strongest track here I agree,Borderline,Massacre,Johnny good tracks also not a patch on the 'Jailbreak' album though but a good listen.
Best Track: Don't Believe A Word
Don't Believe a Word is the highlight of this treat of guitars and songs about foxes and Johnny! One of the best albums Thin Lizzy put through your speakers!
