Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.4/100, a mean average of 71.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.5.

In all honesty, there are about three or four songs on this album that I wasn’t too fond of. It was BRMC experimenting, changing things up a little bit. Usually, when I think of BRMC music, I think of something gritty, like the soundtrack to the violence of the old west, and a few of the songs on this album just sounded like BRMC trying to be quieter, and typically, they are anything but quiet. I appreciate bands trying something different, but the experiment in this case just didn’t work too well. But, the rest of the album is absolutely phenomenal, enough to more than make up for the few songs I wasn’t too fond of. Seriously, songs like “Sell It" and “Rival" are just absolutely awesome BRMC songs, what you would expect from them. Powerful, loud, heavy bass, heavy guitars and some powerful vocals. Great album.

Disappointing this one. It has some great tracks but on the whole there just isn't much enjoy and some tracks are just downright boring. I really wanted this to be as good as its predecessor.
