Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.2/100, a mean average of 75.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.2.

Interesting record. Emo meets post-rock would have to be the way I describe it. It's not a thrilling record- but definitely an interesting one. Some tracks were excelent, like "Gig Life", "Heartbeat In the Brain", and "Getting Sodas", but others I found a bit boring
if you like the feeling of being together with your (16-30) family or friends, you'll love this record
The beginning reminds me a lot of American Football, which really drew me in. The vocals could be described as "whiny" but for the feel of the album they really work. As the album progresses, though, this drifts increasingly into a typical Midwest emo sound, which I'm not a huge fan of. Not a bad album but it doesn't quite do it for me, although if you're a fan of Midwest emo you should definitely check this out.
they are best while they are quick, the slower moments dont really grab me as much as the faster ones
Great album! I think it sums up the recent "emo-revival" as a whole.
Fantastic Indie Rock with influence from Emo and Post-Rock
Midwest emo is a really cool scene in that it's actually made me interested in emo. Anyways, this isn't as good as Dads, but it's still really solid.
Perfect indie rock, never loses pace for a second and every moment of it completely surrounds you. There's definitly a post-rock vibe here as well, hints of instrumental experimentation make this album feel very entire and rewarding.
