Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.0/100, a mean average of 76.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.6.

A really interesting work. The first track is a classic, but the next two feel like distorted, bastardized pop songs in a way. Hiders could be some sort of 80's piano ballad if done differently. Not many artists can pull that off and make it sound boundary-pushing, but Burial does
Fractured yet cohesive. Dark yet completely inspiring. An impressive EP by Burial with great themes and chilly production.
Love the direction burials work is going in. All 3 tracks for me are top drawer and its my favourite since street halo.
I was really digging it and then it lost me. Not as captivating as his other works.
Great running track, lots of different levels, my first listen to Burial works, definitely give the older stuff a listen.
Love the more melodic direction here, still matched with great beats. 'Come Down To Us' is magical.
This is not really anywhere near Burial's best work, but I respect an artist's attempts to change and progress their sound and challenge their listeners. I'm not all too crazy about some of the percussion on here, in particular the very tacky off-kilter drums on Hiders. I hope if he/she ever drops a 3rd LP it sounds like Kindred, I fucking love that shit.
Favorite tracks: Rival Dealer, Come Down To Us, and Hiders
Since it's an EP of 3 songs, i can talk about each track. First off, the first song (the title track) faintly resembles what Burial did on "Untrue", his masterpiece. It's unrelentingly brutal (reminding me of kid606's last album). Just when you think the song will take the steel-heeled boot off your throat with its pauses for reload, Burial finds new weight to crush your larynx. By the time the first track's over, you are not only slayed by Burial, but the song has courteously haunted you on the way out. "Hiders", a subtly-beautiful track, especially for Burial, continues the haunting at a briefer pace. Closer "Come Down To Us", another long-player, stretches the beauty into a celebratory hand-holder, inviting more people to hold hands as the song plays out.
