Debut album of one of the greatest Brazilian groups of the 1970s.

As its name ("New Bahians" _ Bahians referring to the core group of musicians led by Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, who were from the state of Bahia) implies, here they're massively influenced by Tropicália; from their next record on (1972's "Acabou Chorare", a masterpiece), they'd show their unique personality, going from samba to exquisitely played rock'n'roll.

Although this 1st record is immature and derivative, it's not bad. Not a track stands out, though.
