Self-produced and recorded in John Wozniak's bedroom, From the Marcy Playground would lay the foundation for Wozniak's future band, Marcy Playground. His girlfriend at the time, Sherry Fraser and her brother, Scott helped with the recordings and Sherry's vocals appear on "People Are People" and the closing track, while Scott played the drums.

From the Marcy Playground is a collection of twisted childhood memories and nightmares whose blows are softened by Wozniak's whit and dark humor. It is one of my personal favorites and serves as a testament to Marcy Playground's true songwriting genius. I will forever consider Wozniak the master of melancholy.
