One day, on youtube, I somehow came across a video of this... thing. I think I was looking up videos for the video game 'The Next Penelope' and Penelope Gazin popped up. I was blown away as soon as I heard it.
When I looked up the album on bandcamp, I only fell in love more. I enjoy albums that challenge common tendencies in music. I also greatly enjoy any music when it is clear the artist has a lax attitude and doesn't take themselves too seriously. It became very clear that both apply. A physical copy of this comes on cassette and nothing else. You can download it for free. It's easiest to describe the sound as ukulele grunge as she sings about ripping bodies apart on the corny instrument. It meshes so beautifully that it quickly became a personal favorite of mine. No, this is not a recording for everyone. But, if you ever need a breath of fresh air... you can find it on Bandcamp for free (or you can donate money like I did if you like). Heck, get the cassette even.

A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
