Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.9/100, a mean average of 77.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.4.

Bastante olvidado tras la aparición de Graceland, este álbum me parece el mejor de Paul Simon casi a la altura de Bridge Over Troubled Water.

"Was a Sunny Day" is downright cringe-worthy. The fake Jamaican accent does not play well in 2021. Apart from that, it is a great album.

Pretty underrated album in my opinion. Some of his best material on here and in general very consistent. If you'd take Graceland away this might be his best...

First album I listened from Paul Simon. My dad loves it. Yes, it's easy listening, but I find all of the songs nice both lyrically and musically. I only find Loves like a Rock out of place, maybe it wasn't the best choice for a closing track.
My favourites: One man's ceiling..., American tune, Kodachrome.

A personal favorite. My first Paul Simon album. It seems to me to that the songs just float (in a good way). Two great examples are the fade outs on 'Take me to the Mardi Gras' and 'One Man's ceiling. . . '

There goes rhymin' Simon, is a very good album, but like a lot of Paul Simon records there's always a bit of filler on there. Still, rhymin', contains some of Simon's greatest songs. Kodachrome, is great, as is, loves me like a rock, and, American tune, but best of the lot is, something so right, my all time favourite Paul Simon solo song. The rest veers from good to ordinary. St. Judy's comet, is good, and, tenderness, is nice, but, was a sunny day, is a throwaway reggae number, and, learn how to fall, is okay. A good album then, just not consistent enough to be a genuine classic.

Such amazing songs! All of them! Why don't more people appreciate this work of art? Paul Simon really brings it on this album.

Only 4 comments on this one? It's his best album! Every song is great, and it's so diverse.
