Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 84.8/100, a mean average of 83.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.9/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.6.

imo one of the best things ever
What crazy sound, I wonder how much George Martin contributed?
How crazy it must have been to hear this in 1967! I often forget how innovative and well made this song is given how many other wacky songs I've heard that have been made since. It really does sound like some kind of circus, it's very of its time.
This is certainly among the Beatles best psych songs. John did a number w/ the circus sounds on this.
My favorite song on Sgt. Pepper, and maybe my favorite Beatles song.
You have to love the eeerie circus feel of this song :)
John Lennon's sinister(at least the eerie music suggests) circus story is yet another mini masterpiece from the most major of masterpieces. Mr. Kite, like Paul McCartney's, she's leaving home, derived from a written piece, this time a poster, advertising Mr. Kite and his wonderfully eccentric entourage. The poster had almost wrote the song itself, Lennon just simply turned the information in front of him into the context of song lyrics. It's a brilliant creation, with George Martin's excellent production, as always, working superbly, especially on the waltz in the middle eight and is a wonderful example of how the Beatles were incorporating studio trickery into their art. Mr. Kite, is a great track, almost unsettling, but always on the right side of brilliant.
Fantastic experience listening to this one!
Fun!
Extremely trippy with some funny lyrics.
