Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 83.7/100, a mean average of 82.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.1/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.3.

If you like Tony Banks, this is the song for you. This might be his best performance on the album, as his work with the keyboards and synths drive each of the melodies that form this long piece. You'll probably also appreciate this one if you're into really weird lyrics, as it probably also takes the cake in that department. I do think the first two minutes of ambience could have been shorted or cut out entirely, as it takes so long to really dig into the meat of this one, but once you're there, it's pretty enjoyable. I don't think it's quite a masterpiece, but it really does have some of Banks' finest work with Genesis.
Part 1 is a collection of very disruptive sounds that can easily serve as part of a soundtrack to a David Lynch film.

One of my favorite songs on this album. Love the Tony Banks keyboard passage that was used year's later as part of a live medley.

After eating the lamia, Rael turns into a slipperman. Confronted by the raven, he's presented with the album's climax. Fun 3-part song with Phil even singing lead for a bit. Gabriel takes on the voice of other slippermen, ugly and deviant. Rael rediscovers his brother in this song. They go to the doktor to help them revert to normal, internally shouting on the operating table "don't delay, dock the dick. i watch his countdown timer tick." Tony Banks rocks it.
