Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 91.2/100, a mean average of 90.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 91.4/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.1.

While I’m relatively burned out on Whole Lotta Love, I’ve always felt the middle part is ambitious and executed extravagantly. The Bonham fill that leads the listener out of the experimental cloudiness and into Page’s ripping solo is, to me, one of the band’s best moments.

A decent opener, the psychedelic part is a non starter and ruins the track.

One of the first rock songs someone getting into rock should listen to, even though it's not even the best on the album. Really shows how good Led Zeppelin is.

A great song with an awesome solo but I've heard so many time now and I'm starting to get a bit tired of it

I know this is one of the most iconic songs in rock history, and the much favored opener of this great album, but it really is rather sophomoric both lyrically and musically compared to what Led Zeppelin was capable of and what they did over the rest of this, and most of their other albums.

Now that's an album opener. Although this song is played so many times on my local rock stations, it's still a masterpiece. The psychedelic breakdown in the middle is mind-blowing. Sometimes, you marvel at how this was made in 1969 and still puts modern rock to shame.
