The opening line...wow, it grabs you and gets your attention.
Genesis' first step in the new progressive rock direction. Also the first song that proved Peter Gabriel could be a truly excellent vocalist for Genesis. There are a few moments where it feels like the song should build into something greater and doesn't, but there are also a few moments in particular where the keyboard, piano, guitar and flute are just divine, especially the final minute when they all come together. Ultimately, it's a little uneven in spots, but traces of future excellence are scattered throughout.

When I saw the rating I thought this song wodd be pretty average. It's not average at all. This song is a masterpiece.
