The absolute perfect song to open up Blue.
Joni is met with uncertainty and delivers to us a confused stream of consciousness. With her words, she takes us through her mind as if we are traveling (traveling, traveling) this lonely road with her. No matter how much it weaves and forks and winds aimlessly and endlessly.
This miiiight be my favorite Joni Mitchell song.
It seems like she's finding the words and melodies as she sings them, which is so intimate and beautiful.
