where:
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.

Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 64.9/100, a mean average of 63.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 63.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.2.

“I actually know a handful of these songs quite well as the radio station at work loves Disclosure. With a star studded lineup (including The Weeknd, Lorde, and Miguel) this seemed to have all the ingredients for an album of club bangers except for the one element that makes a banger (whatever that…”

“My recommendation is: I'm mostly recommending this because it brings me immense pleasure knowing someone has to sit though this 2+ hour triple LP, and it never gets discussed as one of the great live albums ever. This LP was recorded entire live from one concert in order! That NEVER happens! If the…”

An overlooked classic in the making. Settle was a good record, but Caracal is a more refined and nuanced record. Being a dreamy, spacey and futuristic album based in r&b, house, downtempo, soul, funk and pop Caracal will be looked as the duos more timeless record.
