Don't be offended by this mr NickVolos, I'm just doing it for fun:

It's A Long Way Down by The Fallen Angels: Has one really good song: "One of the few ones left".

Deaf Priscilla by Beauregard Ajax: When I listened to this album I was the whole time asking myself how anybody could like it.

H. P. Lovecraft by H. P. Lovecraft: don't like it, not the second one either.

It's A Beautiful Day by It's A Beautiful Day: good album, "Bombay calling" is of course the song that Deep Purple ripped off to make Child In Time, but my favourite song is "Girl with no eyes".

The Music Emporium by The Music Emporium: One good song: Cage. That one is badass, the rest... not so much.

Then comes 5 albums I've never heard of.

Electric Music For The Mind And Body (album) by Country Joe And The Fish: really overrated. It has a lot of characteristics of good psychedelic music, but lacks any real content.

Introspection by The End: there are some promising moments, but the only song I really like in it's entirety is "Cardboard Watch".

The Love Cycle by Forever Amber: I've really tried to like this album but I can't, it's just not good.

Virgin by Traffic Sound: This is a nice one, need to listen to it more to really form an opinion.

Last one I've also never heard of.

Apologies to everyone reading this redundant and arrogant post.

I'm surprised nobody's suggested Nektar yet! They're really solid; lots of sweet riffs, excellent keyboards and a ballin' rhythm section. A Tab in the Ocean, Remember the Future, and Recycled are my favorite albums of theirs, but if you just want to listen to one song to see what they're like, check out "Desolation Valley/Waves" (the first song flows directly into the second). Try to listen to the original mixes of their stuff if you can, the U.S. mixes tend to take out some of the crunchiness, which isn't really something that needs to be taken out in psychedelic rock!

RIGHT NOW i love a load of psychedelic sort of stuff!!

in terms of sorta earlier stuff, like garage rock like The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators, Boom! by The Sonics and the first Chocolate Watchband record.

Then a lot of the more psychedelic krautrock stuff is incredible. NEU!, NEU! 2 and NEU! 75 are absolutely mesmerising, whilst The Faust Tapes are a must, and well - Amon Duul 2's Yeti is just one of the greatest albums ever released.

Then a lot of shoegaze & similar stuff is great! Try garage inspired early stuff by The Telescopes (there's a brilliant live album called Trade Mark of Quality) and The Spacemen 3's Sound of Confusion, Perfect Prescription and Taking Drugs To Make Music to Take Drugs To are all must-hears. And of course Loveless by MBV, Chrome by Catherine Wheel and the first 4 Ride EPs are all amazing!

And in terms of more modern psych, try Hookworms, Black Moth, The Black Angels, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Vacant Lots, Animal Collective, Telegram and TOY!! Tell me if you like these!

A few more albums which weren't mentioned before and I love:

Probably my favourite psychedelic folk album. This is a magical journey:

The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter by The Incredible String Band

In Search Of The Lost Chord by The Moody Blues

Love both of those albums, I might give them a spin a bit later...

My favourite in this genre is this amazing album (sorry if mentioned already):

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band
