Here are a bunch of albums for people who want to hear them. I am going to be putting comments on my chart and make changes. As I am getting back to music this will be a good thing ๐
Here are albums:
Performing The Music Of Eric D. Morrison by The 100% Storms Ensemble
This album is fantastic! It is all instrumental and the 2012 games starting track is stiring. Like big things are happening. This album takes lots of classical sounds and puts them into a sort of regular album format. At times it is scary and closing in. You know the word they use for being scared of tight spaces? That word yet in a building a great sound sort of way. Definitely one for those who like the art.
For those who: liked Arcade Fire but thought it would be better if the singers didn't sing and they didn't play their instruments and classical fanfare played instead.
Twilight Sessions Volume 1 by Bing Satellites
This is a wonderful waste of a Sunday afternoon! Well I suppose 'waste' is a negative word to be using... what you have hear is imaginative beauty. It is music to get lost in your thoughts to. The first album is all about the clouds and remembering the past although later albums stir other images ever so genetly. It is amazing what this artist can do with ambient music because it is much more than ambient in its soul.
For those who: want to make me feel really happy because others are listening to Bing Satellites
Great Expectations by Tasmin Archer
Fantastic singer who writes songs of pure imagination and love. I intially got this album as I misread the cover as Tori Amos and didn't realize until I put it on at home. It was from the antique store in Keswick and was one of the best mistakes I made with music. There is something very sincere about all this and she deals with topics others might not. More than the one song and music you could sing along to. Listen to song Hero.
For those who: just liked the 90s and music from it.
Thousand Knives by Ryuichi Sakamoto
Like robots fighting and then making up afterwards. It would be wrong of me to say Kraftwerk here although the guy is holding a lightbulb with his hand which must... hurt. This album is a painting alive and your life will be slightly less without it. I mean it's not a big a deal as having your first kid... still the whole reason I have put it here is to get you to listen.
For those who: trust the robots as much as me.
Imperium by Current 93
Very interesting start to the album. It's all tip toe vocals and unpaniced man and the music is all stringy yet... feels gloomy. This album is singalong for pain and doom. It's like the future of humanity is bleak and lots of bible or pretend bible references are on the way. It's light candles at midnight music and you must give it a go. Face your fears. Definitely a step up from the first albums where he screamed a line over and over.
For those who: like their albums like their cursed books.
People's Spring by Warsaw Village Band
It's all "wah wah heey" and "wee wee haaah" and somehow it remains fantastic. As mezmorizing as the trafic lights when you really have to get somewhere.
For those who: would like another Polish album in their collection.
Twilight Sessions Volume 5 by Bing Satellites
This time the album is all about space and finding where you stand in it all. I mean it is all far too big for you to something and yet you can be the biggest thing in your own world if you try. This time the songs are all super long and the realizations keep pouring yet it is never boring.
For those who: are missing something and an album you can download for free just might do the trick.
Super Castlevania IV (SNES) Original Soundtrack by Masanori Adachi & Sotaro Tojima
Because the music makes you feel like you are going to go through a castle to deck some vampire dude. The music here puts you in the hero's seat. Simon's Theme is stirring while Treasury Room is epic in scale and the bass is out of its world. Bloody Tears is another highlight although it is best from start to finish.
For those who: like a lot of SNES music and have not heard this one. GET TO IT NOW!
Nothing Of Cities by Years Of Rice And Salt
Music to watch the Earth spin to. This is otherworldly if the world in question exceeded all your expectations. Sure there may be no chip shops or takeaways yet mountains and fields in twlight can fix that. Imagine looking at the stars and feeling you could take on each of them in turn. This is what they call 'post rock' at its very very best and the bands Tortoise, Signor Ross and Bark Hocos Pocus just don't compare.
For those who: want to go where they never believed they could go before.
Solar by Rubik
Energetic music of yester year meets the reasons you want to live outside. Which sort of sounds silly. I will just say the music is very good.
For those who: like fun. I suppose.
Harsoinen Terรคs by Hassisen Kone
It's all in foreign language yet I want a little more. Lovely guitar music for the gentleness we sometimes see inside. I think if i knew what was said, it would be about reflection on his life.
For those who: like Bill Fay or the Stormcock album by that other guy.
Histrionic by Maria Minerva
Like a robot made of lots of fun who also knows lots of things. Sort of dancy yet in an indie way which I guess is a way to put people off. Don't be put off though as this has some very wonderful tunes you would miss out on. Plus it is the most recent album here so it has that going for it.
Looking for albums similar to some of Oneothix Point Never's most recent tracks like Meet Your Creator and Americans It has a very Philip Glass, minimalist sound to it an was wondering if there is anything else like it.
Looking for jazzy psych rock. Maybe with a little prog thrown in there.
I've always had trouble characterizing what psych is exactly, but try Tone Dogs, particularly Ankety Low Day, and if you like that you might also peek into Caveman Shoestore. I'd also suggest Bill Laswell's solo material from the '80s, particularly Hear No Evil for the psych, but Baselines is better. HiM's stuff from Sworn Eyes on is jazzy, sometimes proggy, and sometimes psychedlic as well. Those come to mind

I want to listen to more metal, but I've had pretty mixed opinions on a lot of the metal albums I've listened to lately. I've been really digging Mastodon the last couple days (especially Crack the Skye), and other albums that have a similar sound to what I'm looking for are Agalloch's The Mantle and Liturgy's The Ark Work. I know The Ark Work is pretty different from the others but it's got the progressive eclectic feel I'm looking for. Kind of melodic but still heavier than say Tool? Basically I have no idea what I'm looking for so if anyone has any suggestions for anything similar to any of those albums I'd appreciate it. Not a huge fan of black metal unless you consider Liturgy black metal but I've been meaning to listen to Burzum's Flagigfmas again. Also wasn't big on Opeth when I listened to them. But I like Isis and Boris if that helps.
So yeah throw some stuff at me if that paragraph made any sense and I'll do some listening. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

The following might not be exactly what you are looking for, but I hope they help.

I mean I don't know what I'm looking for either, but I'll give a listen to some or all of these. Thanks! _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
