Nice additions. I haven't listened to Rancid since I was like 12 or 13. As for The Exploding Hearts, I heard about them on some YouTube video about tragedies a few months back, looked them up on here and listened to them on YouTube. It was a very fun album indeed.

I'll always have a soft spot for this band, as they instantly transport me back to my early teenage years. I doubt I'd even be able to sit through an album of theirs anymore, but I think the goal of this band was always simply to connect with teens, and they succeeded wildly.

Yeah now that this is album of the day I revisited both Enema and this album. And man, they definitely as a band were tight, catchy, and their songs were well written pop - some of them are just absolutely sublime pop beauties. And the drumming is absurdly excellent and always keeps me listening to the music. Really fun and solid albums and a very good band, no doubt in my mind. _________________ -Ryan

My second favorite album from them after enema. I don't really judge on the quality of the music. As other users mentioned, it brings back a lot of memories, which is more than enough to enjoy an album. It's just really good pop! _________________ "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming"

Yo this has become let's rec good Gilman Pop Punk (Rancid, Screeching Weasel) and that makes me overwhelmingly happy. In addition to what else people have said:

It's A Girl by Sweet Baby
Wanna know what led to early Green Day? Cuz this is what led to early Green Day.

Answer That And Stay Fashionable by AFI
AFI was good? No, AFI was great.

Our Bodies Our Selves by The Mr. T Experience
Dr. Frank is a genius lyrically, and while the music is simple, well, isn't that the point of pop-punk?

Love Songs For The Retarded by The Queers
It's about as serious as an album called "Love Songs for the Retarded" can be.
Other than Gilman, here's sort of the "other than Green Day, Blink, and Offspring" 90s and on (aka no Dickies, Undertones) canon stuff IMO:

...Is A Real Boy by Say Anything
The album that didn't change the pop-punk game the way I honestly would have guessed, but really puts the "pop" in pop punk in a fun, silly way.

Joyce Manor by Joyce Manor
Proving that pop-punk isn't dead and we don't have to rely on Man Overboard to slowly kill it.

Hello Rockview by Less Than Jake
Ska-punk at it's finest.

Your Favorite Weapon by Brand New
Brand New's debut is nothing like their other stuff, but if you want 40 minutes of nonstop nostalgic angst, there really is no better way to go.

Commit This To Memory by Motion City Soundtrack
Again, very poppy as far as pop punk goes, while keeping enough edge to seem "cool" ... ish.

Punk In Drublic by NOFX
Skate-punk at it's finest.

Home, Like Noplace Is There by The Hotelier
Proving that modern Emo and modern Pop-Punk can go together really well.
I really should just make a "history of pop punk" chart at this point, I love making these posts way too much. _________________
