^^^ To me it is all comes down to personal taste. The good thing about country is that more than just one subject is sung about, not to mention there being so many different voices now.
God bless you always!!!

You know, for all the trolling he's known for, this is an unironically great JMan thread for 2013.
Anyway, I think I have gotten more into country music over the years, though I still prefer the new pop stuff to the oldies.
JMan never intentionally trolled. He was more known for overreacting, and his odd way of approaching records.
I'm the opposite of you. I prefer the classic sounding stuff that sounds dusty. The pop country stuff is far too sleak for me. I am really happy to see the latest shift, which a lot of really good new artists surfacing and reviving interest in country. Daniel Romano, Margo Price, Greg Butera, Sturgill Simpson—and less recently Neko and Gillian—are all worthy torchbearers. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

No use for it whatsoever. Other than some bluegrass, which actually has great musicianship. I can hang with a little Glen Campbell, Chet Atkins, or even a little Jerry Reed, but the vast majority of Country is so mind-numbingly simple as to be intolerable.
