Best Metal Album Tournament - Rules and Info - Tournaments

Update: Bracket has been created and is located here: Bracket The first four match-ups will start on 11/13. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I posted about this in the Game Suggestions thread, but I didn't get a response so I figured I'd make a thread for it since there seemed to be interest. The weather is getting colder which means it's the perfect time of year to listen to some metal. It's a genre that's sadly under-represented in the charts for this site, and though it seems a lot of people are interested in ranking films, I am not one of those people. So, metal tournament anyone? Even in a metal tournament we need rules, so here they are: 1. All subgenres of metal allowed. Heavy, black, doom, death, sludge, stoner, pagan, thrash, drone, power, speed, Viking, pirate, nu, hair, glam, whatever. I don't want to have any arguments about what is and isn't metal, so RYM's genre designations will be the final decider on whether an album is metal or not should disagreements arise. 2. Album pool consists of 64 albums, starting with one three nominations per user. 3. Only albums outside the top 750 albums in the overall chart are eligible. This is because everyone lots of people have heard Master of Puppets and Number of the Beast and I want to uncover some hidden gems. 750 is a pretty arbitrary number, but it's consistent with the Hip Hop tournament from a few years back, and honestly there are probably more hip hop albums in the top 750 than metal albums. Nominations are now (mostly) closed. Thanks to Mercury for making the definitive Best Metal Album Tournament chart

I'm gonna nominate something that I've been listening to non-stop since it came out, it's very new but for me it's already a classic. Wanted to nominate Saor's Aura but this is just more to my taste:

Missed these tournaments. Having said that I know close to zilch about metal but if this is allowed I'll have this please, just to play along:

Or else just give me Ace Of Spades. And like Norm I haven't heard Master of Puppets or Number of the Beast either.
