Big up to fellow vinyl junkie Johnnyo who sent me a message yesterday to tell me about a 3-for-2 reggae sale at Twickenham's Eel Pie Records (conveniently located at the back of a deli). They were offering free cocktails for spends over ยฃ20 (originally advertised as a can of Red Stripe - sounds like they couldn't get any in), but alas I was driving, so couldn't partake. Anyway, picked up:
African Roots Act V on Wackies (orig.)
Best of Horace Andy on Studio One (repress)
Lonely Man by Pat Kelly (again, looks unplayed - on Burning Sounds, never heard it but took a punt given how good Pat Kelley Sings is)
Something Fishy Going On by Ranking Ann (again, bought purely on the strength of a previous album, but given how much I adore A Slice Of English Toast and one of the tracks is on the Stalag 17 riddim (c.f. Sister Nancy's "Bam Bam") you can't go wrong).
