It's bloated and corny and often somewhat clumsy, but it's also hugely likeable and ambitious and catchy and very much more hit than miss. He would refine this formula - not to mention his writing and delivery - on his next album (his one true masterpiece), but it's hard not to miss this version of Kanye, when he felt fresh and captivating. Much like Jose Mourinho, his arrogance used to be balanced with a certain rogueish charm and an undeniably new, entertaining way of doing things, but over the years his mix of weary cynicism, defensive self-righteousness and increasing, self-imposed isolation have worn away at the lustre and left him looking like a man playing catch-up in a world that has long since left him behind. Shame. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

this is a great album. A bit overlong but definitely worth checking out. When Jesus Walks first came out I thought it was genius and heralded a big new talent.
I like his new album, though that is a little short. His last 2 projects/albums before his current one left me a little cold but he has many good, even great albums in his discography.
