Some music just hits a mood so right that you have to congratulate it. Even if it is formulaic and unoriginal. I loved listening to this album, even though it went on too long, the tracks were short (and sweet) and I was kept engaged the entire time. If you want some instrumental hip hop soul stuff with an abundance of vocal sampling, then here's an album for you.

Well the best that this did was have an interesting bass/guitar arrangement on track two and then the eponymous track brought me back when K-EARTH was still an iconic radio station. Now they play fucking Journey (I mean plenty of radio stations do, but K-EARTH used to mean something). Anyway, ranged from almost good to iconic single to pretty bland, so it gets a 70/2.5 from me.

I listened to both Lovers Logic and Summer Breeze, but I'll just use the album artwork for Summer Breeze, because it's already here. Anyways, it's more of that smooth and funky Japanese music from the 80s that I'm convinced can do no wrong as long as your not some kind of uptight curmudgeon.

This album is hard and militant, with outstanding production throughout. It has a few great tracks and a bunch more solid ones, and I can see why it's a classic to many. But the glaring flaw with this record is the misogyny. "You Can't Fade Me" is one of the more disgustingly hateful tracks I've ever had the displeasure to hear, and Ice Cube's lyrics are predictably terrible on "It's A Man's World." Aside from those tracks, there are woman-hating bars sprinkled here and there throughout the album. This lowers my rating significantly, but the majority of the album is good, so I still think it's worth a listen. 3/5.

I imagine this is what Beck would sound like if he came out in the 60s... hehe. At first I thought, hmm... this is pretty good. And then I was like I like this. And then I was like this just keeps getting better... and weirder... but I like it. I don't remember Moby Grape having this effect on me, but it was just a quick does this suck or not type listen. Anyway, I dig - 4/85. Which is odd because some of this meandering I usually will not put up with.

A pleasant champer pop album that would fit well in any smoky European cafe at twilight. It creates a nice feeling, but it's creativity is mostly used up in the first half.

I still don't get the hype. I've heard bits and pieces of it before, and I thought the whole thing would be better than the sum of its parts, but it's not. I mean it's a nice pop album and I liked it quite a bit, it has those 80s aesthetics that people love, it's catchy and decently executed... but not nearly my favourite pop album of the last several years. I'll gladly blast a number of these songs at a party though (next Saturday, my place, yall are invited). But WHY is this record the one pop album music geeks are allowed to like? I don't get it. 7/10

I've never been a fan of early psychedelic Pink Floyd and this did nothing to convince me. Might be interesting if I was on something but sitting sober at work there wasn't enough going on to entertain me. Might make a decent movie soundtrack? My favorite track was Set Controls For the Heart of the Sun, but the fact that it's name-checked in my favorite song is probably coloring my opinion.
I'd be curious to hear your favorite pop album of the last few years, LedZep. I've been trying to listen to more pop but EMOTION is one of the only pop albums I've found I love front-to-back. Hopefully you like this slab of garage rock more.

Every Susanne Sundfør album is great, Ten Love Songs is one of my favourites of the decade. Janelle Monáe has 2 fantastic albums (haven’t listened to The Electric Lady yet). FKA Twigs, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish had excellent albums last year. Grimes is always a hit too, but Visions is my fave. Robyn is never in the limelight, but she’s released some seriously good pop music in the last 10 years. Masseduction is another one that comes to mind. Lorde and Kali Uchis too.
