Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 13% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.4/100, a mean average of 73.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.6.

An album for good times and kindred souls. Revel in your youth and shout it from the streets!

My favorite record of all time. All the originals are classics and they do a great take on "For the Love of Ivy" as well. It's one of those records that I remember exactly where and who I was when I feel in love with it. The day "The House that Heaven Built" is still clear in my mind. I saw the song had gotten posted and, having never heard of the band before, listened. I think I listened to the song maybe 30 times that day. I could write pages on this album. Just perfect

Reminds me of late-90s garage rock. It's not bad, but I can't see myself returning to it often.

I really cannot understand the appeal and fondness for this band and album. Just a really mediocre bar band who must have some important people backing them. Really can't stand it actually!!

Driving around in the summer, windows down, and this. One of the most feel-good albums I know, gets better the louder you play it and the more you listen to it.

Right Here, Right Now, this album will receive my 9.5/100, great alternative album with a very good intro and full of good songs, and one of the best albums of the 2010s

Rough and raw. Who complained about the lyrics? Yell like hell to the heavens?
