Hard to praise this album enough, it's definitely a masterpiece, but my one thing - Harmony is 1. a top-tier Elton John song that doesn't get enough love and 2. too short because man I could jam out to that chorus for hours

I once played “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” on repeat after breaking up with someone who was out of my league.

She was quite flattered.

For an album that carries with it a pretty legendary reputation and acclaim, I still feel it’s somewhat underrated.

I’ve always loved this album so much. Disc one is of my most listened to in all of music. The production is so much stronger than some of the previous Elton records and it’s stockpiled with varied, but remarkably consistently material. Of all this album’s most notable elements, it’s the sense of nostalgia they are writing about on some of these tracks that makes the album feel absolutely timeless.

Every track on this album is a potential single of top 100 singles UK & US chart standard with the possible exception of I've Seen That Movie Too.

I think it's amazing how strong this album is when I consider that most of his other good albums only had a few really great tracks each. A lot of my favorites on this album are the lesser known ones like Grey Seal, Danny Bailey, Roy Rogers, Sweet Painted Lady, This Song Has No Title, Harmony. And of course all the hits were great. But I always thought Candle in the Wind was really clunky and awkward and it's one of my least favorites.
