Very good album, but personally I'd rank it at #5 in the Beach House catalogue, with Once Twice Melody at #3 and Depression Cherry at #4. I almost have to wonder if this album is ranked higher because of better release timing or something like that — and having it in the Top 600 albums all-time seems like a bit of a stretch too, if I'm being brutally honest.
The Beach House album that I like best. Maybe Teen Dream is tighter, and maybe Bloom really grabs me when I'm listening to it without totally staying with me afterwards, but 7 just knocks me out every time. It's been a minute since I gave it a spin, though. Maybe I'll revisit it later.
