Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 80.0/100, a mean average of 79.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.5.

Interesante y bello, uno de esos albums relajantes para dejarse llevar, aunque un poco largo en mi opinión
Some good albums
A hazy odyssey of some of Beach House's biggest and best songs yet. Took me a few listens, but this has grown on me as one of their better albums. Though I prefer Bloom and 7, I'd put this roughly on par with Teen Dream (though probably a tick lower, since "Modern Love Stories" leaves kind of a sour taste in my mouth; I mean, compare that with the soaring bliss of "Take Care," and OTM's closer is especially damning). You can certainly make the case that, had they pared this down to the best tracks, you'd have maybe the best Beach House album. In its current form, Once Twice Melody is an experience much greater than the sum of its parts. Perhaps the band is not reinventing their sound so much as they are finding new avenues and modes. It's hard to find fault in comfort when the songwriting and production are this good, and when all of it comes together so beautifully.
So when you consider artists who might have albums inside the BEA overall top 200 (ever) I bet Beach House wouldn’t come readily to mind?. But thats where you’d be wrong because Beach House have not one but two albums inside the top 200 and a 3rd just outside the overall top 500 (‘7’ from 2018). For an artist with a particularly nuanced ethereal sound I find find that quite remarkable and shows the popularity of the gene
And here we have more of the same only this time on a grander scale in both scope and breadth which is sure to land highly on most year end best of lists
A gentle and ethereal listen. Some lovely melodies intertwined with some really well thought-out electronic touches. Music that hasn't just been spewed out. This is craft.
I'm always surprised at just how prolific yet consistent Beach House are as an outfit and this doesn't buck that trend.
Oh well here we go again. Music 85/100. But CD listenability 20/100. Bella union recent years CDs sound horrendous, the ones I've heard anyways, Same thing: Imagine treble turned to zero with a towel over speakers, that is the sound. Sounds way better in Spotify and that sounds shit. I keep seeing people saying it sounds great. Strange.
This is good album but it’s a bit of a slog. This is the problem I consistently run into with Beach House- all of the songs sound basically the same. It’s just difficult to get through this long of an album without a little diversity. It’s a good formula but you can only make the same songs so many times.
This is the grandest release from Beach House. It's their first self-produced album, clocking in at nearly an hour and a half, and comprising 4 discrete chapters. BH make the claim in their press release for it that "Across these songs, many types of style and song structures can be heard." I will agree that this is certainly the case more so than any of their previous releases – some key examples include Sunset and Masquerade, which to anyone giving a stock standard review of this album as one-note totally dispel. However, it hardly qualifies as "many" different sounds. It's a few relatively similar sounds, and then a lot of Beach House signature songs for a very long time. It's really one of those albums where if you love beach house, you just got a double album's worth of gold, if you never cared for Beach House, this isn't going to change your mind one bit.
Perhaps too dreamy and monotonous for me, Beautiful in some aspects
