Hitch Hike
written by Marvin Gaye, William "Mickey" Stevenson & Clarence Paul
The Rolling Stones covered this Marvin Gaye hit in 1965. It was included on both the US and UK versions of Out Of Our Heads. It's their third album, on which there are several cover songs. It was not a hit, and was not released as a single.
The original was much more interesting. It was Gaye's first top 40 hit in 1963 (the single came out in late 1962). Gaye plays drums on the track, and is backed up vocally by Martha Reeves & The Vandellas. It started the brief Hitch Hike dance craze.

Finding out this arrangement on a Technosoft (of the Thunder Force franchise) fan YouTube channel is how II discovered Toshinori Hiramatsu's music and his heavy metal project "Sword of Justice"!
This track is from the album "The Elegy Of The Battle", which is the first installment of Sword of Justice where Hiramatsu-san had arranged all the video-game tracks by himself.
Both tracks have few differences, except the original is more synthpop-ish and its main arpeggiated melody is played on a piano, while the arrangement is guitar-focused and in addition as epic as Hiramatsu-san could be, composed an original quite-long solo section which is so cool!
The other arrangements of the album are cool as well, and the rest of Hiramatsu-san's is flooded with amazing arrangements, guest guitar-playing and some original compositions II decided to dive in, just because of this arrangement. Best decision ever!
P.S. We all know how David Allan delivered the song. This message is to give John a well-deserved moment. _________________ Me & my favorite singer James Otto
